Suedois Wins Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes at Keeneland

Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky was the scene of the $1 million G1 Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes on Saturday, October 7. Horses three years old and upward took to Keeneland's turf track and raced one mile for not only the winner's share of the generous purse but also an automatic spot in the Breeders' Cup Mile at Del Mar Nov. 4. It was European invader, 9-1 shot Suedois that proved best on the day, emerging in the 14-horse field by a just a half-length. Hard-luck 2-1 favorite Heart to Heart finished second with Ballagh Rocks, who was sent off at 3-1 getting in for third. 9-2 third choice Divisidero came fourth Mondialiste fifth while 5-1 fourth choice Miss Temple City, Offering Plan, Le Ken, Flatlined, American Patriot, Christian C, Applicator, Tyler U and Dimension completed the order of finish.
