Big Bend Wins Sycamore Stakes at Keeneland

The $100,000 G3 Sycamore Stakes went down Thursday, October 19 at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky. Horses three years old and upward were featured when they took to Keeneland's turf track and raced 1 1/2 miles. Union Rags Racing LLC's 18-1 race outsider Big Bend pulled the upset, rallying from fifth and eventually hitting the wire three-quarters of a length in front for his first stakes win. 12-1 shot Nessy finished a good second in the field of 12, 1 3/4 lengths ahead of 3-1 favorite Canessar, who got in for third. Flashy Chelsey was fourth while Tasit, Final Copy, 7-2 second choice Manitoulin, Some in Tieme who was also sent off at 7-2, Renown, Majestic Pride, Hardest Core and Infinite Wisdom completed the order of finish.
