Great Minds Wins Texas Mile Stakes at Santa Anita Park
Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas was the scene of the Grade 3 Texas Mile Stakes on Friday, May 6 - a one mile dirt race for horses three years old and upward. Albert Stall trained 10-1 shot Great Minds survived a duel down the stretch and won by a half length over Shotgun Kowboy who finished second at 8-1 odds and 3-1 second choice Carve who claimed third. Aces High was fourth followed by 5-2 favorite Jessica's Star, Blue Tone, Hip Four Sixtynine, Endurance and Wolf Man Rocket to complete the order of finish. Gotham News scratched.
