Bayern Wins Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park
Las Vegas, NV - Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey played host to the biggest race of the weekend - the $1 million Grade 1 Haskell Invitational on Sunday, July 27. Bob Baffert trained 9-2 second choice Bayern won in gate-to-wire fashion by an astounding 7 1/4 - along with the nice winner's prize, Bayern earned an automatic berth into the Breeders Cup Classic. Albano, rallying on the inside, was a distant second with Wildcat Red finished a length further back in third. Irish You Well edged 7-5 favorite Untapable by a head for fourth. Just Call Kenny, Social Inclusion, Encryption, and Medal Count completed the order of finish.
