Bradester Wins Monmouth Cup Stakes at Monmouth Park

The $200,000 Grade 2 Monmouth Cup Stakes was run Sunday, July 31 at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey - a 1 1/16 mile dirt race for horses three years old and upward. Joseph Sutton's 3-5 race favorite Bradester continued an impressive string of results by repeating as winner in this race. He led at every call and easily crossed the line first - 2 1/2 lengths ahead of 7-1 shot Scuba who closed from fifth to finish second and Mr. Jordan who crossed the line 5 1/4 lengths further back in third at 8-1 odds. Adirondack King finished fourth in the field of six while 5-2 second choice Blofeld and Encryption completed the order of finish.
