Donegal Moon Wins Pegasus Stakes at Monmouth Park

Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey was the scene of the $150,000 Grade 3 Pegasus Stakes on Sunday, June 19. Three year olds went 1 1/16 miles on Monmouth Park's dirt track. Donegal Racing's, Todd Pletcher trained Donegal Moon posted the slight upset in the field of seven prevailing by 1 1/4 lengths for his first ever stakes win. 28-1 longshot Extinct Charm finished a good second with Awesome Slew getting in for third at 6-1 odds. Saratoga Jack was fourth followed by overwhelming 1-5 favorite Unified who faded badly, Abiding Star and Memories of Winter to complete the order of finish.
