Classy Class Wins Salvator Mile Stakes at Monmouth Park
Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey was the scene of the $100,000 G1 Salvator Mile Stakes on Saturday, June 17. Horses three years old and upward took to Monmouth's dirt track and raced eight furlongs. Cheyenne Stables' 9-1 outsider Classy Class led at every call and won by 2 3/4 lengths for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin for his first ever graded stakes score. 21-1 shot Just Call Kenny closed from fifth to finish second by a neck over another longshot 22-1 Adirondack King who got in for third. Donegal Moon was another length back in fourth while 3-1 favorite Name Changer, Majestic Affair, who was also sent off at 3-1, Far From Over and 5-1 shots Red Dragon Tattoo, and El Kabeir completed the order of finish.
