Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course Results
Las Vegas, NV - In the main event on a busy Saturday of thoroughbred racing, all eyes were on Orb as he was looking to claim the second jewel of the Triple Crown in the $1 million Preakness Stakes at Pimlico in Baltimore, Maryland. But it wasn't meant to be for the Shug McGaughey trained colt. It was D. Wayne Lukas trained Oxbow that stole the show Saturday posting a 1 3/4 length win at 15/1 odds while Itsmyluckyday ran second and Mylute third. 7-10 favorite Orb, who had dropped back to seventh, rallied again for fourth by a half-length over Goldencents in fifth. Departing finished sixth and Will Take Charge, Govenor Charlie, and Titletown Five completed the order of finish.
