Cloud Computing Wins Preakness Stakes at Pimlico

The biggest race of the weekend - the second jewel of the Triple Crown - the $1.5 million G1 Preakness Stakes went down Saturday, May 20 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. Some of the best three year olds around took to Pimlico's dirt track and raced 1 3/16 miles. It was Klaravich Stables and William Lawrence's 13-1 shot Cloud Computing that stole the thunder on the day, using a stellar stretch run to emerge by a head in the quality field of 10. 2-1 second betting choice Classic Empire, the champion 2-year-old male of 2016 faded but still finished second with Senior Investment another 4 3/4 lengths back in third at 31-1 odds. Lookin At Lee was fourth while Gunnevera, Multiplier, Conquest Mo Money, Kentucky Derby winner and 6-5 race favorite Always Dreaming was eighth, Hence, and Term of Art completed the order of finish.
