Untrapped Wins Oklahoma Derby at Remington Park
Remington Park Racing Casino in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma hosted the $400,000 G3 Oklahoma Derby on Sunday, September 24. Horses three years old lined up on Remington Park's dirt track and raced 1 1/8 miles. Michael Langford's 11-1 shot Untrapped posted just his second career victory - first stakes win with a strong stretch run and a 1 3/4 length score. 7-5 favorite Battle of Midway settled for second in the field of eight, 3 1/4 lengths ahead of Gato Del Oro who got in for third at 8-1 odds. Colonelsdarktemper was fourth while Haskell Invitational winner and 8-5 second choice Girvin came fifth and Altito, McCormick and B Squared completed the order of finish.
