Magician Wins Breeders' Cup Turf at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $3 million Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Turf was contested at Santa Anita on the biggest day of racing in North America Saturday, November 2. Irish-based Magician and jockey Ryan Moore recorded the win in the 1 1/2 mile test for horses three years old and upward. 3-2 favorite and only female in the race, The Fugue finished second, a half length back and Argentine-bred Indy Point was third. Point of Entry, second in the 2012 BC Turf, finished fourth, followed by 27-1 shot Vagabond Shoes, Twilight Eclipse, Little Mike, Big Blue Kitten, Real Solution, Skyring, 95-1 early pacesetter Teaks North, and Tale of a Champion.
