Obviously Wins Shoemaker Mile Stakes at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $400,000 Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile Stakes went down on Santa Anita Park turf on Saturday, June 14. It was Irish bred Obviously, the 8-5 favorite that emerged victorious for the second straight year in this race - this time by 1 1/2 lengths in the 1 1/4 mile test. Obviously gained an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Mile with the win. Late running Summer Front finished a good second while there was a dead-heat for third between Tom's Tribute and Silentio - both finished another half-length back. Jack Milton, Winning Prize (ARG) and Pulpit's Express completed the order of finish.
