Shakin It Up Wins Strub Stakes at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 2 Strub Stakes went down at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California Saturday, January 18. Second choice Shakin It Up, in his second start around two turns earned the relatively easy 2 1/4 length win to give his trainer Bob Baffert a third straight Strub victory. Another Baffert trainee Govenor Charlie was a clear second by 2 1/4 lengths over the late-running 7-5 choice Hear the Ghost, who was never a threat under Corey Nakatani. Another Hollendorfer trainee, Zeewat, took fourth, followed by Dice Flavor, Heir of Storm, Say Ow, and Rookie Sensation.
