Gormley Wins FrontRunner Stakes at Santa Anita Park
The $300,000 Grade 1 FrontRunner Stakes took place Saturday, October 1 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. Some of the best two year olds in the land took to Santa Anita's dirt track and raced 1 1/16 miles. It was 10-1 shot Gormley that surprised the field, emerging by an impressive three lengths in front-running style in his stakes debut. Overwhelming 1-5 favorite Klimt finished a disappointing second in the field of seven with 7-2 second choice Straight Fire getting up for third. Midnight Pleasure was fourth with Vibe, Plum Dandy and Secret House completing the order of finish.
