Solid Wager / St. Joe Bay Wins Midnight Lute Stakes at Santa Anita Park
A sloppy Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California was the scene of the $100,000 G3 Midnight Lute Stakes on Saturday, December 31. Horses three years old and upward took to Santa Anita's dirt track and dashed 6 1/2 furlongs. Trainer Peter Miller had quite an afternoon as two of his horses dead-heated for the victory - Solid Wager, who was sent off as the 5-1 fourth choice and even money favorite St. Joe Bay shared the victory in the field of five. 8-1 shot Tough Sunday finished another 1 1/4 lengths back in third, followed by Jimmy Bouncer and Navy Hymn, to complete the order of finish.
