Beholder Wins Vanity Mile Stakes at Santa Anita Park
The $400,000 Grade 1 Vanity Mile Stakes went down at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California on Saturday, June 4 - a one mile dirt test for fillies and mares three years old and upward. It was Spendthrift Farm's overwhelming 1-5 favorite Beholder that dominated yet again for her eighth straight win, as the three-time Eclipse champion dominated the field that was trimmed to just five - by 1 1/2 lengths over fellow champion, 3-1 second choice Stellar Wind. Finest City finished third at 12-1 odds while Lost Bus tired to finish fourth and Divina Comedia completed the order of finish. All Star Bub and Taris were scratched.
