Unique Bella Wins La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita Park
The $300,000 G1 La Brea Stakes went down Tuesday, December 26 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. Three-year-old fillies took to Santa Anita's dirt track and raced seven furlongs. Don Alberto Stable's 6-5 race favorite Unique Bella followed up a disappointing seventh as favorite in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint with a good three-quarter length score. 2-1 second choice Paradise Woods claimed second in the field of eight while 15-1 shot Mopotism closed from sixth to finish third. Marley's Freedom was fourth with Just a Little Hope, Princess Karen, 7-1 third choice Faypien, and Miss Sunset completing the order of finish.
