Vale Dori Wins Santa Maria Stakes at Santa Anita Park

Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California played host to the $200,000 G2 Santa Maria Stakes on Saturday, February 11 - a 1 1/16 mile dirt test for fillies and mares four years old and upward. It was overwhelming 1-5 favorite Vale Dori that continued her impressive ascension up the older female division with a 1 3/4 length score - her third straight G2 win. Show Stealer posted her second straight runner-up finish behind Vale Dori at 6-1 odds, 3 3/4 lengths clear of 31-1 shot Autumn Flower, who also finished third last time out behind Vale Dori and Show Stealer in the La Canada on this track. Lady Tapit finished an even fourth in the field of six, followed by Sheer Pleasure and Midnight Toast to complete the order of finish.
