Las Vegas, NV - Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York played host to the $300,000 Grade 2 Knob Creek Lake Placid Stakes on Saturday, August 16 - a 1 1/8 mile turf test for three year old fillies. Besilu Stables' Crown Queen emerged victorious in her graded stakes debut, besting the miniscule four horse field by a half length. 12-1 long shot Duff One finished second followed by second betting choice Xcellence and Minorette. My Miss Sophia, entered for the main track only, and V V Goodnight both scratched.
