Nonna Mela Wins Adirondack Stakes at Saratoga Race Course
The rescheduled $200,000 Grade 2 Adirondack Stakes took place Friday, August 19 at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga, Springs, New York - 6 1/2 furlong sprint for two year old fillies. St. Elias Stable's Todd Pletcher trained 8-1 shot Nonna Mela opened a few eyes with an emphatic six length victory. 9-2 third choice Silvertoni finished second 3 1/4 lengths ahead of Olive Branch who finished third at 6-1 odds. 3-2 favorite Libby's Tail finished a disappointing fourth while Ever So Clever was fifth, followed by Romantic Music and Dial Me, to complete the order of finish.
