Songbird Wins Coaching Club American Oaks at Saratoga Race Course
The $500,000 Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks was contested Sunday, July 24 at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. Three year old fillies took to Saratoga's dirt track and raced 1 1/8 miles. Fox Hill Farms' undefeated overwhelming 1-5 favorite Songbird did what EVERYONE expected and easily bested the field of five by an impressive 5 1/4 lengths. 2-1 second choice Carina Mia finished second, four lengths ahead of 63-1 shot Flora Dora who got in for third. Mo d'Amour finished fourth and was followed by Weep No More to complete the order of finish.
