Good Samaritan Wins Jim Dandy Stakes at Saratoga Race Course
The $600,000 G2 Jim Dandy Stakes took place Saturday, July 29 at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York - a 1 1/8-mile dirt race for three-year olds. Good Samaritan posted an incredible last-to-first surge after being 12 lengths back and prevailed by 4 3/4 lengths. The expected showdown between Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming and Preakness Stakes victor Cloud Computing never materialized. 10-1 shot Giuseppe the Great closed for second, while 6-5 second choice Always Dreaming came in third. Pavel was fourth and even-money Cloud Computing rounded out the order of finish.
