Alpha Bettor Wins Autumn Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack

Las Vegas, NV - The $150,000 Grade 2 Autumn Stakes went down Friday, November 15 on Woodbine polytrack - a week after it was originally scheduled and postponed due to heavy winds. Alpha Bettor emerged victorious as the 4-1 third choice and in turn threw his name into the hat for the Sovereign Award as Canada's champion older horse. Occasional View finished 2 3/4 lengths in front of third-place Pender Harbour with Ultimate Destiny fourth. Then came 5-2 favorite James Street, who was never a threat, Awesome Overture, Peyton, Bowman's Causeway, and Perfect Afleet. Mezzano was a stewards' scratch.
