Phil's Dream Wins Nearctic Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack

Las Vegas, NV - The $300,000 Grade 1 Nearctic Stakes took place at Woodbine in Toronto, Ontario Sunday, October 14 - a six furlong "Win and You're In" Breeders' Cup Challenge race. Phil's Dream provided the upset in his graded stakes debut as the 9-1 seventh choice by two lengths but will likely skip the Breeders' Cup. Delaware invader Mr. Online rallied from eighth from between rivals at the quarter pole to get up for second by three-quarters of a length over Longhunter. They were followed by Langstaff, Bear Tough Tiger, Riding the River, Bear No Joke, Fatal Bullet, 3-1 favorite Excaper, and Strong Impact. Tripski was stewards' scratch.
