Las Vegas, NV - Woodbine in beautiful Toronto, Ontario played host to seven older fillies and mares in the $150,000 Grade 3 Royal North Stakes on Sunday, July 28. Nikkis Smartypants emerged victorious in upset fashion, recording her first stakes victory at 8-1 odds. Why Katherine finished a very good second while Little River was a decent third. Canadian champion female sprinter Roxy Gap, sent off at 5-2 odds finished fourth and was followed by Cat Lore, Heavenly Pride, and 7-5 favorite Sensible Lady who finished last.
