Melmich Wins Valedictory Stakes at Woodbine

Las Vegas, NV - The $150,000 Grade 3 Valedictory Stakes went down at Woodbine in Toronto, Ontario on Sunday, November 29. Stephen Chesney and Cory Hoffman's Melmich destroyed the synthetic rack record for 1 3/4 miles and prevailed by an extraordinary 10 3/4 lengths as even money favorite for his first graded stakes score. Patrioticandproud finished second at 6-1 on the morning line and champion 4-1 shot Pender Harbour, who made the final start of his career in the Valedictory, was third. Desvelo finished fourth followed by Habibi, second choice Royal Son, Midnight Aria and Royal Blessing to complete the order of finish.
