Rainha Da Bateria Wins Canadian Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack

Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario was the scene of the $300,000 Grade 2 Canadian Stakes on Saturday, September 17 - a 1 1/8 miles turf race for fillies and mares three years old and upward. Chad Brown trainee, 9-2 second betting choice Rainha Da Bateria hung on to win by a nose and in turn earned an automatic spot into the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Santa Anita. Fellow Chad Brown trainee, Grade I winner and even-money race favorite Dacita finished second with Faufiler getting in for third at 5-1 odds. Strut the Course was fourth while Steip Amach, Midnight Miley, and Goodyearforroses completed the order of finish.
