Good Samaritan Wins Summer Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack

The $200,000 Grade 2 Summer Stakes was run Sunday, September 18 at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario. Two year olds took the Woodbine's dirt track and raced one mile in this Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" - the winner gaining a berth into the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. China Horse Club and WinStar Farm's 3-1 second betting choice Good Samaritan came from last in the field of seven to post the 1 1/2 length score. Even-money favorite Conquest Farenheit finished second while Channel Mark got in for third at 14-1 odds. Tiz a Slam was fourth while Harlan's Harmony, Conquest Sure Shot and The Craic, the lone filly in the Summer completed the order of finish.
