Bangkok Wins Valedictory Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack
The $150,000 G3 Valedictory Stakes was run Sunday, December 4 at Woodbine in Toronto, Ontario - a 1 3/4 mile marathon for horses three years old and upward on Woodbine's All Weather Track. Gail Wood and Dr. Ruth Barbour's homebred and 17-1 longshot Bangkok provided the huge upset - emerging by a half length over overwhelming 2-5 favorite and defending Champion Melmich who finished second. Ethical Funds finished a good third at 28-1 in the field of seven with English Illusion, Mutasaawy, Aldous Snow and Decision Day completing the order of finish.
