Green Mask Wins Highlander Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack

The $250,000 G2 Highlander Stakes was contested Sunday, July 2 at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario. Horses three years old and upward were featured when they took to Woodbine's turf track and dashed six furlongs. Last year's runner-up in this race, 3-5 favorite Green Mask proved best in this year's edition - by an impressive two lengths. Calgary Cat closed from last in the field of seven and claimed second as the 9-2 co-second choice with the other co-second choice Commute holding on for third. Commend finished fourth followed by Noholdingback Bear, Don Camillo, and Sweet Grass Creek to complete the order of finish. Hootenanny scratched.
