Las Vegas, NV - Belmont Park in New York will be the scene of the Grade 3 Bold Ruler Handicap this Saturday, October 27. Horses three years old and upward will be featured as they dash seven furlongs on Belmont Park`s dirt track in pursuit of their share of the $150,000 purse.

2012 Bold Ruler Handicap Race Favorites

Caixa Electronica - Todd Pletcher trained Caixa Electronica had won two big races in three starts - the Grade 2 Charles Town Classic Stakes on April 4 and the Grade 2 True North Handicap on June 8 before stumbling in his last three races - a fifth in the Grade 3 James Marvin on July 20, an eighth in the Grade 1 Whitney Invitational on August 4 and a fourth in the Grade 1 Forgo on September 1. Last time out was a good second to The Lumber Guy in the Grade 1 Vosburgh at here September 29. Caixa Electronica is hot and cold but gets a reprieve from Grade 1 competition in this Grade 3 event.

Little Drama - is multiple graded stakes placed and a multiple stakes winner that had had a win in an Allowance Optional Claiming on August 20 at this distance and followed that with an OK fourth last time out in the Grade 1 Vosburgh. He has just one win in his last nine starts but could be a factor Saturday.

Bold Ruler Handicap 2012 | Remaining Field Entries

Spring to the Sky - will make just his eighth career start after breaking maiden in September and following it up with a fourth and a second place finish in a pair of Allowance Optional Claiming races. A third in the Duluth Stakes July 22 followed an OK fifth in the Grade 3 Hill Prince Stakes at Belmont in June. Last time out was a nice win in the minor Groovy Stakes to follow a disappointing ninth in the Grade 3 Saranac at Saratoga September 3.

Isn't He Perfect - has nine starts in 2012 for trainer Richard Dutrow with his sixth last time out in the Grade 1 Forego representing his only graded stakes action in 2012. Isn't He Perfect followed a pair of Allowance Optional Claiming scores in May with a pair of seconds in the next two starts both minor stakes races - the Mountainview Handicap on July 28 and the Birdstone Stakes here on August 2.

Golddigger's Boy - has placed in five of six starts in 2012 - three of which came at Parx. He started the year with a third in the Bensalem Stakes, followed it with a win in the Lyman Handicap and has posted a third and a second in the next two races. He had a very good second in the Grade 3 James Marvin behind Pacific Ocean at Saratoga on July 20 but was fifth last time out in the Grade 2 Kelso here September 29.

Zero Rate Policy - has seven starts in 2012 with just two second place finishes. Last time out was an eighth in the Grade 1 Vosburgh to follow a pair of second place finishes. Zero Rate Policy ended 2011 with two straight wins but hasn't been the same in 2012.

Gallant Fields - will make his stakes debut on Saturday after just three wins, five seconds and five third place finishes in 17 career starts. Gallant Fields won an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out for trainer Richard Dutrow but appears outclassed in this one.

Buffum - Has won two of his last four starts - both Allowance races. He does have graded stakes experience in his eight race career however - a fifth in the Remsen in November 2010, a fifth in Dubai in February 2011, a fourth in the Grade 3 Bay Shore in April last year and a sixth last time out in the Grade 2 Suburban here July 7.

Private Tale - will be making his graded stakes debut Saturday after five wins, two seconds and a third place finish in 10 career starts. He has recorded wins in two of his last three starts - both Allowance Optional Claiming races.

Associate - finished third in the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes to end 2011 but has focused on Allowance races in 2012. In four starts he has two wins including last time out on this track, a second and a third place finish.
