Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 1 Frizette Stakes goes down this Saturday, October 6 from Belmont Park in the lovely state of New York. The race will feature two year olds willing to go one mile on Belmont's main dirt track for their share of the $400,000 purse.
The Frizette has drawn a strong field of seven juveniles for race 7 on Belmont's Saturday card. Post time is 4:02 PM. Here is a brief glimpse into the past performances of all seven entries ahead of this Grade 1, Breeders, Cup "Win and You're In" race.
Dreaming of Julia - Todd Pletcher filly enters the Frizette having started two career races and winning both - a win on August 6 by an astounding ten and a half lengths at Saratoga was followed by an equally impressive 16 1/4 length score in the Meadow Star Classic last time out here on September 9. She will have legendary jockey John Velazquez in the saddle to help on a quest for continued perfection.
My Happy Face - has two career starts as well - both Maiden Special Weight races. Last time out was a win at Saratoga on August 31 by an amazing 21 1/4 lengths to follow up a second to Teen Pauline in her debut on that same track July 25.
Sweet Shirley Mae - broke maiden in his first career start in May at Belmont and followed that with a fifth in the Grade 3 Schuylerville Stakes at Saratoga on July 20. Last time out was a very good second in the Grade 1 Spinaway at Saratoga on September 2 for trainer Wesley Ward. Joel Rosario will get the mount.
Toasting - broke maiden last time out in her third career start after a fourth in her debut and a third before her most recent start on this track.
Nancy O - Irish bred filly is the first foal of former Canadian Horse of the Year Arravale. She had just a fifth place finish in her debut and a decent second after that in an Allowance at Woodbine. Last time out was a decent third in the Grade 2 Natalma also at Woodbine September 15.
Rovering Patrol - is one of the only stakes winners in the field - she won a Maiden Claiming in her debut followed by win in the Diane Kem Stakes by 8 1/2 lengths September 9 - both results coming at Emerald Downs.
Carameaway - is the most experience filly in the field having raced four times in her career. Those races yielded a pair of thirds, a seventh and a win last time out in a Maiden Special Weight here on September 13.
