Las Vegas, NV - The 17th running of the Grade 3 Obeah Stakes comes our way this Saturday, June 16th from Delaware Park. Fillies and mares three years old and upward will go 1 1/8 miles on Delaware Park's main track in search of their share of the $150,000 purse.

A small but impressive field of six has been assembled for race 7 on Delaware Park's Saturday card. Post time is 4:15 PM. Here is a look at the contenders and what brought them to this Grade 3 event.

2012 Obeah Stakes Race Favorites

Pachattack - is cross entered in the All Along Stakes at Colonial. She won the Grade 3 Doubledogdare Stakes last time out her first start of 2012 after a fairly productive 2011. Pachattack was third in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic in November and before that finished second in the Grade 1 Juddmonte Spinster Stakes on October 9th. She also had a second in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign Invitational Stakes at Saratoga a month before that. Pachattack has raced in six straight graded stakes races with two wins, two seconds a third and a disappointing eighth in the Grade 1 Beverly D. Stakes at Arlington last spring. She loves the big races and has fared very well in all.

Tiz Miz Sue - has four wins and a second place finish in seven career starts on this track including an impressive second in this race last year to eventual Horse of the Year Havre de Grace. She won her first graded stakes race on March 17th - the Grade 3 Azeri Stakes at Oaklawn and she has placed in all four of her starts in 2012 - the last result being a third in the Grade 1 Apple Blossom Handicap at Oaklawn on April 13th. Tiz Miz Sue is close to prime time and is definitely a horse to watch.

Obeah Stakes 2012 | Remaining Field Entries

She Be Classy - most recently finished fourth in the Winter Melody Stakes on this track on May 12th in her only start of 2012. She Be Classy knows Delaware Park well but likely won't be much of a factor on Saturday.

Sunroof - has yet to see any stakes action but has won two straight Allowance races at Parx. This is a huge step up in competition for Sunroof for sure!

Love and Pride - Todd Pletcher filly has raced four times in 2012 - three graded stakes races. Last time out was a decent second in the Grade 3 Allaire DuPont Distaff Stakes at Pimlico on May 19th to follow up a fourth in the Grade 3 Sixty Sails Handicap at Hawthorne and a respectable second at the Grade 2 Top Flight Handicap at Aqueduct. Love and Pride has four wins, two seconds and four third place finishes in 12 career starts.

Check Point - ended 2011 with an impressive second in the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm Handicap at Aqueduct but in 2012 has a third in the Videogenic Stakes on April 14th and a fifth in the Grade 3 DuPont Distaff Stakes. Check Point has eight wins, eight seconds and four third place finishes in 31 career starts.
