Pin Oak Valley View Stakes (Div. 2) at Keeneland

Dave Bond | OTB Writer

Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes is on tap for this Friday, October 19 from Keeneland in Lexington Kentucky. Three year old fillies will be after their share of the $125,000 purse when they go 1 1/16 miles on Keeneland's turf track.

The Pin Oak has been split into two divisions because of the quantity of entries that the race has drawn - each division has a $125,000 purse instead of a $150,000. Division 2 - the deeper of the two has attracted 12 fillies for race 9 on Keeneland's Friday card. Post time is 5:21 PM. Here is a breakdown of the 12 entries into the second division and what should transpire Friday.

2012 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes (Div. 2) Race Favorites

Pianist - Chad Brown trained filly has won three of her four starts this year and finished second in the other. Friday marks her graded stakes debut after two straight wins - the last being the minor but competitive Given Stakes at Belmont Park September 20 by 5 1/2 lengths.

Leading Astray - has six career starts with five impressive wins including last time out in the Grade 3 Pucker Up Stakes at Arlington Park on September 15 and the Hatoof Stakes before that. She enters in the best form of any of her competitors and is coming off four straight decisive wins.

Pin Oak Valley View Stakes (Div. 2) 2012 | Remaining Field Entries

Dancing Solo - Todd Pletcher trained filly has eight starts in 2012 with two wins, two seconds and two third place finishes. She won two straight in May and June including the Grade 3 Boiling Springs Stakes at Monmouth but has slipped a tad in her last two starts - a seventh two back in the Grade 2 Lake George was followed by a third most recently in the Twin Light Stakes.

More Than Love - won two straight races to end 2011 including the Grade 3 Miesque Stakes at Hollywood Park but has struggled in 2012. A second in the Florida Oaks was followed by a seventh in the Grade 2 Bourbonette Oaks two back. Last time out was another colossal disappointment - a twelfth in the minor Edgewood Stakes May 4. She enters off a lengthy layoff and in marginal form.

Miz Ida - has won four of her last five starts including the Indiana Downs Distaff tow back and the Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf last time out. She has yet to start a graded stakes race but she is certainly an interesting entry Friday.

Welcome Dance - has won two minor stakes races at Delaware Park in her last three starts and had a second in the Dauphin Miss Stakes sandwiched in there. Welcome Dance is another yet to start a graded stakes race but is one that has been very competitive in the past.

Freedom Reigns - Irish bred filly has three wins and a second in six starts this year - three straight wins before a second in the Hatoof Stakes two back and a fifth last time out in the Grade 3 Pucker Up Stakes.

Daylight Ride - has five career starts but will be making her stakes debut on Friday off a pair of wins in her last three starts - an Allowance last time out and a Maiden Special Weight three back.

Zucchini Flower - finished seventh in the Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan in May and followed that with a fifth in the minor Tweedside Stakes. She has placed in her last three starts however - two thirds and a second in three minor stakes races.

English Class - will be making her stakes debut after a win and three third place finishes in five starts this year - all at Woodbine.

Fine Silver - will also make her stakes debut after five races at Calder yielded two wins and a third place finish. She has three wins in 12 career starts for trainer Sal Santoro.

Temper in Command - Dale Romans trained filly will make her stakes debut in her sixth career starts. She has won two of her last three races with a seventh in an Allowance sandwiched in between.
