Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 3 Iowa Oaks is on tap for this Saturday, June 30th from Prairie Meadows. Three year old fillies will be on display when they race 1 1/16 miles on Prairie Meadows main dirt track. A $200,000 purse is on the line.

2012 Iowa Oaks Race Favorites

Tapajo - Steve Asmussen filly has two straight wins under her belt both minor stakes races on this track. Last time out was an impressive win in the Panthers Stakes by 6 ¼ lengths and before that was a win in the Goldfinch Stakes on April 20th. Tapajo knows this track well and has fared very well here recently.

Ice Cream Silence - has been on quite a roll lately and is the only other graded stakes winner in the field. After a second and a sixth place finish to start her career, Ice Cream Silence has rattled off three straight wins all in 2012. The last and perhaps most impressive victory came in the Optimistic Gal Stakes at Churchill Downs on May 26th.

Livi Makenzie - has placed in seven of eight career starts with two wins three seconds and two third place finishes. Last time out was a second in the Optimistic Gal Stakes in May and before that was a decent fourth in the Grade 3 Eight Belles Stakes and a good third in the Grade 2 Beaumont.

Emona - won the first race of her career but hasn't tasted victory since. She did have a second in the minor Meafara Stakes at Arlington Park on June 2nd but that in her only placing in the last three starts.

Ize in Trouble - had two second place finishes and a third at Sunland Park before shipping to Golden Gate where she most recently finished seventh in the Golden Poppy Stakes. Ize in Trouble has a win, two seconds and a third place finish in five career starts.

Uptown Bertie - has yet to see any stakes action in her nine race career but she has posted two wins and three second place finishes in the last five starts at Allowance and Maiden Special Weight races.
