Las Vegas, NV - The 2012 edition of the Grade 2 Nassau Stakes comes our way from Woodbine in Rexdale, Ontario this Saturday, June 2. Fillies and mares three years old and upward will be featured on Woodbine's turf track as they race one mile in search of their share of the $300,000 purse.

A field of seven females has been confirmed for race eight on Woodbine's Saturday card. Post time is 4:49 PM. Here is a look at all of the entries and the recent performances that brought them to this Grade 2 event.

2012 Nassau Stakes Race Favorites

Inglorious - Canada's champion three year old filly and runner up for horse of the year in 2011 makes her Woodbine debut this Saturday after opening 2012 with a second to fellow Nassau entry Marketing Mix in an Allowance race at Keeneland. Inglorious`s last start on this track resulted in a third place finish in the Grade 3 Selene Stakes to close a 2011 campaign in which she won three in a row including the Woodbine Oaks and the Queen's Plate and La Lorgnette Stakes. With five wins and a third in six career starts on this track, Inglorious has to be considered the favorite.

Marketing Mix - had a disappointing fourth place finish as favorite last time out in the Grade 2 Distaff Turf Mile at Churchill Downs on May 5th to follow up a string of impressive results - an Allowance score at Keenaland a win at the Grade 2 Mrs. Revere Stakes in November at Churchill Downs, a second at the Grade 2 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup in October, a win in the Grade 3 Pucker Up Stakes and a victory on this track in the Wonder Where Stakes last July. Marketing Mix is 1B in this race if Inglorious is 1A.

Roxy Gap - is coming off a pair of wins on this track - the Grade 2 Hendrie Stakes last time out by 2 ½ lengths and the Grade 3 Whimsical Stakes on April 22nd to follow up a third in an Allowance at Gulfstream in her first start of 2012. Roxy Gap had a win in the Fury Stakes, a fourth in the Woodbine Oaks and a second in the Ontario Damsel Stakes on this track in 2011. She is familiar with and is very good at Woodbine but she prefers the Polytrack surface.

Indian Pond - will make her 2012 debut after a third place finish in the Maple Leaf Stakes on this track closed out her 2011. Indian Pond has three wins and two third place finishes in seven career starts.

Forest Uproar - finished fifth in this race last year and followed it up with a sixth in the Grade 2 Dance Smartly Stakes in July. After a disappointing 11th in the Grade 2 Canadian Stakes Forest Uproar endured a seven month layoff before returning to a fifth in an Allowance at Keeneland on April 11th. She is a huge long shot in this race.

Fantastic Cousin - has 16 career starts - all at Woodbine against lesser competition. In the 16 starts Fantastic Cousin has just two wins - early in her career.

Skylara - will be making her graded stakes debut after a sixth last time out in an Allowance at Keeneland on April 6th. Skylara has three wins, a second and two third place finishes in eight career starts mostly in Allowance races at Woodbine.
