Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 3 Edward P. Evans All Along Stakes comes our way this Saturday, June 22 from Colonial Downs is New Kent County, Virginia. Fillies and mares three years old and upward will be featured as they go 1 1/8 miles on Colonial Downs turf track in search of their share of the $150,000 purse.

The All Along Stakes has attracted a field of seven females for race 6 in Colonial Downs Saturday card. Post time is 7:10 PM. Let's take a brief glance into the credentials of all seven combatants for this Grade 3 stakes.

2013 All Along Stakes Race Favorites

Channel Lady - Todd Pletcher filly made her graded stakes debut with a good second behind Hard Not to Like in the Grade 3 Marshua's River Stakes January 5 and followed that with a terrific win in the Grade 3 Suwannee River Stakes on February 2. Before that five career starts yielded three wins and a second place finish. Her last two starts have resulted in fourth place finishes - at the Grade 2 Honey Fox Stakes March 16 and last time out in the Grade 2 Churchill Distaff Turf Mile May 4. She is the only graded stakes winner in the field and carries the top weight for the All Along Stakes.

Appealing Cat - H. Graham Motion trained filly had nice second in the Grade 3 Endeavor Stakes February 2 in her graded stakes debut but followed that with an unflattering eighth in the Grade 3 Hillsborough Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs March 9. She won an Allowance race at Keeneland April 12 and had a decent third last time out in the Grade 3 Gallorette Stakes at Pimlico May 18. She has four wins, three seconds and three third place finishes in 14 career starts but will be after her first graded stakes score Saturday.

Adjacent - has 10 career starts for trainer Shug McGaughey with four wins, three seconds and a third place finish. She is coming off a respectable third in the 10 furlong Owsley Stakes at Colonial Downs May 1 - her stakes debut after an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Gulfstream in February. Saturday marks an enormous step up in competition for Adjacent - it will be her graded stakes debut. She should be in the lead early - the trick is remaining there!

Welcome Dance - has won two minor stakes races at Delaware Park in her last four starts and had a second in the Dauphin Miss Stakes sandwiched in there. Welcome Dance was last seen finishing seventh in the Grade 3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes back in October at Keeneland. She breaks from the rail and promises to bring some speed to the All Along.

Clare Skies Ahead - finished second in this race last year at 16-1 odds for her best result in some time. She won the minor Omnibus Stakes at Monmouth Park in August but has registered just a pair of fifths with a ninth sandwiched in there since that win. She has only one start this year after seven months off - a fifth at the minor Miss Liberty Stakes at Monmouth Park May 26.

Embarr - Susan Cooney pupil won the Dahlia Stakes at Pimlico two back in her first start in 5 1/2 months and followed that with a disappointing sixth in the Grade 3 Gallorette Stakes May 18. She looked great in the summer of 2012 with a three race win streak including a pair of Allowance Optional Claiming and the minor Brookmeade Stakes on this very track in July. Since then she has been up and down - a seventh in the Grade 3 Nobel Damsel in September, a nice second in the Grade 3 Athenia Stakes in October are just examples.

Idle Talk - is a veteran of 40 career starts with 12 wins and six second place finishes. She ended 2012 with a pair of eleventh place finishes - the Lady Baltimore Stakes at Laurel Park in October and in a Starter Stakes at Gulfstream. She has two starts in 2013 - a Starter Allowance score at Atlantic City in May after a six month layoff and an eighth last time out in the minor Miss Liberty Stakes at Monmouth Park May 26.
