Las Vegas, NV - Golden Gate Fields in beautiful San Francisco, California will be the scene of the Grade 3 San Francisco Mile this Saturday, April 27. Horses three years old and upward will be featured in this one mile event as they chase the winner's share of the $100,000 purse on Golden gate's turf track.

The San Francisco Mile has attracted a field of 10 for race 6 on Golden Gate's Saturday schedule. Post time is 3:15 PM. Let's take a gander into the past performances of all 10 entries for this Grade 3 stakes.

2013 San Francisco Mile Race Favorites

Hudson Landing - is the defending champion in this race over Gallant Son and Jeranimo and also won the Grade 3 All American Stakes on this track in November for his best result since the San Francisco Mile score. This year he has a pair of third place finishes - an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out April 6 here behind Control Seeker who is also entered in the San Francisco Mile and in an Allowance also on this track March 15. He won five of 12 starts last year and looks to be in decent form for his repeat effort this weekend.

Summer Hit - makes his graded stakes debut for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer having win six of nine career starts with a second and two third place finishes. He has four of his last five ahead of the San Francisco Mile including the minor Silky Sullivan Stakes last June on this track and an Allowance by 3 1/4 lengths March 31 at Santa Anita. Saturday marks a huge step up in competition but there is no denying that Summer Hit is a winner!

Tigah - made his graded stakes debut in May 2012 for trainer John Sadler and finished sixth in the Grade 2 American Handicap at Hollywood Park. He has just two starts since a nine month layoff - a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Santa Anita February 28 and a third in the one mile minor Thunder Road Stakes behind Battle Force and Fed Biz last time out April 6 also at Santa Anita.

Gallant Son - raced to a third place finish in this race last year in surprise fashion after a pair of eighths in his prior two starts. This year he has three starts - a second in an Allowance last time out here March 15, a nice win in the Albany Stakes here February 18 and a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Santa Anita January 20.

Control Seeker - is coming off an Allowance Optional Claiming score over Hudson Landing on this track April 6 after a fifth in an Allowance March 15. he looked terrific at the end of 2012 with three straight wins including the minor Bull Dog Handicap at Fresno in October and a very good second in November in the Grade 3 All American Stakes on this track.

Barney Rebel - Irish bred Barney Rebel made his graded stakes debut last time out with a fifth in the Grade 1 Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap at Hollywood Park in June but hasn't raced since. He had an impressive win in an Allowance Optional Claiming race at Santa Anita on April 22 to follow a third in an Allowance in his North American debut. He has three wins in 12 career starts.

Tribal Tribute - took an enormous step up in competition in September and finished sixth in the Grade 2 Del Mar Derby after two straight wins - the Robert Dupret Derby at Santa Rosa and a Starter Allowance before that. He had an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Golden Gate January 11 for trainer Tim McCanna but has finished off the board in two starts since - an eight in the Grade 2 Arcadia Stakes at Santa Anita February 2 and a fifth last time out in an Allowance here March 17.

Grand Berry - Argentinean bred Grand Berry has four starts on North American soil with a pair of sixths and a pair of seventh place finishes. He has two sixths in Allowance Optional Claiming races in 2012. He had five wins in 11 starts in Argentina including three group wins before shipping to North America.

Coach Bob - makes his graded stakes debut Saturday but has five starts already in 2013. He won an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out here March 31 after a pair of fourths including the minor Sensational Star Stakes at Santa Anita February 24. He has 21 career starts with four wins, three seconds and three thirds and enters the San Francisco mile having won two of his last five overall.

Charlemagne Wood - Irish bred gelding had 19 starts in Italy with seven wins, four seconds and three third place finished before shipping to North America. The Neil Drysdayle trained gelding has two starts in the States - both seventh place finishes in Allowance Optional Claiming races - the last coming here April 6. His last race in Italy was in March 2012 - a win at Rome.
