Go for Wand Handicap 2014 at Aqueduct

Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 3 Go for Wand Handicap comes our way from Aqueduct in South Ozone Park, New York on Friday, November 28. Fillies and mares three years old and upward will take to Aqueduct's dirt track and go one mile looking for the winner's portion of the $300,000 purse.

A field of 12 will take to the track in the Go For Wand - race 9 on Aqueduct's Black Friday card. Post time is 3:48 PM. Here is a look into the past performances of all 12 entries for this Grade 3 stakes.

2014 Go for Wand Handicap Race Favorite Entries

Princess Violet - Michael Hushion trained filly has seven career starts with four wins and two second place finishes - consecutive wins ahead of this weekend. Last time out she won the minor Empire Distaff Handicap by 5 1/2 lengths at Belmont Park October 18 after an Allowance score in dominant fashion on that same track two weeks earlier. She stepped into stakes company four and finished a very good second in the Grade 1 Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont Park June 28 and followed that with a seventh in the Grade 2 Prioress Stakes at Saratoga in August. Princess Violet looks to keep the roll going and for her first graded stakes score from post 6 with Jose Ortiz guiding her.

Street Girl - is coming off a good second in the Grade 2 Chilukki Stakes November 1 for trainer Todd Pletcher after a fourth and a third respectively in a pair of Allowance Optional Claiming races. She also had a second in the Grade 1 Humana Distaff in May. In 2013 she placed in just one of five graded stakes races and ended her campaign with a fifth in the Breeders' Cup Distaff. Street Girl looks for her first win since April, 2013 with Manuel Franco guiding her from post 3.

Willet - James Iselin trainee has 20 career starts with eight wins, seven seconds and three third place finishes - a win, two seconds and two third place finishes in five starts this year. She enters off a second in the minor Iroquois Stakes October 18 after consecutive thirds - the Grade 2 Gallant Bloom Handicap in September and in the Grade 3 Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga August 23. She won a six furlong Allowance July 30 by four lengths after a second in the minor Dancin Renee Stakes July 3 and a win in the minor Touch of Love Stakes in December. Willet has placed in her last six starts overall - very competitive every time out. Dylan Davis will try to keep the roll going from gate 5.

Sweet Whiskey - Todd Pletcher trained filly has placed in seven of 10 career starts - two wins, four seconds and a third place finish. She is coming off a second in the Grade 2 Raven Run Stakes at Keeneland October 18 after a sixth in the Grade 2 Prioress Stakes and a fifth in the Grade 1 Test Stakes. Before that were consecutive seconds - in the Grade 2 Beaumont Stakes at Keeneland April 13 and behind Sweet Reason in the Grade 1 Acorn Stakes June 7. She had and a career defining win - by 2 3/4 lengths in the Grade 3 Old Hat Stakes at Gulfstream January 4. After an unflattering stretch Sweet Whiskey looks to get a bit of momentum going with John Velazquez in the irons from post 4.

Geeky Gorgeous - four time stakes winner stepped into graded stakes company for the first time August 23 and finished seventh in the Grade 1 Ballerina Stakes after a nice 4 1/2 length win in the minor Regret Stakes at Monmouth Park July 26. She has won two of three starts since - the minor Eleven North Handicap September 6 and the Pink Ribbon Stakes September 4 but is coming off a fourth in the minor Cornucopia Stakes at Parx October 11. She won three straight minor stakes starts to end her 2013 campaign as well. Geeky Gorgeous has won three of her last five starts overall but did not fare well in her only foray into graded stakes company. She will leave from gate 8 with Angel Serpa in the irons hoping to change that.

Endless Chatter - Chad Brown trained filly has 11 career starts with four wins, three second and two third place finishes - four wins, two seconds and two thirds in her last nine starts. She made her graded stakes debut September 27 and finished a good third in the Grade 1 Beldame and followed that with a disappointing eighth last time out in the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm Stakes October 26. She won her stakes debut - the minor Summer Colony Stakes at Saratoga in August after two Allowance scores at Parx. Endless Chatter has won three of her last five starts but looks for her first in graded stakes company. Irad Ortiz rides from post 2

Tapit's World - Michelle Nevin trained filly has 12 career starts with three wins, four seconds and a third place finish. She is coming off a fifth in the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm Stakes at Belmont Park October 26 which followed a very good second in the Grade 3 Gardenia Stakes at Ellis Park August 9 and a career worst effort - a twelfth in the Grade 3 Robert G. Dick Memorial at Delaware Park July 5. This after a sixth in the Grade 3 Early Mint Julep Handicap June 7 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score in March. She has been up and down this year and will have Larry Mejias aboard from the rail.

Moment in Dixie - James Toner trained mare has 18 career starts with three wins, five seconds and two third place finishes - just a second and a third place finish in six starts this year. She has place in just one of her last four starts ahead of this weekend - a third three back in the minor West Virginia Senate President's Cup Stakes. Since then she finishes eleventh in the minor Lady Baltimore Stakes and a respectable fourth last time out in the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm Handicap October 26. She looks for her first win since July, 2013 with Jose Lezcano aboard from post 7.

Snowbell - has seven career starts for trainer Thomas Albertini with two wins and a second place finish. She steps into stakes company for the first time Friday off an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Belmont Park October 5, a fourth in an Allowance September 14 and a maiden score August 2. She steps up in good form with Luis Saez in the reins from post 9.

Classic Point - Allen Jerkins pupil has placed in just one of her last four starts - that being a win in the minor Punkin Pie Stakes at Belmont Park October 13. Before that was a fifth in the Grade 2 Gallant Bloom Handicap September 20, an eighth in the Grade 3 Bed o' Roses Handicap June 21 and a last of sixth in the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps Stakes June 7. She has two wins in seven starts this year and has six wins in 29 career starts but looks over her head in this one. Angel Arroyo gets the mount from post 10.

Zucchini Flower - H Graham Motion trainee has placed in just one of her last four starts. She is coming off a tenth in the minor Lady Baltimore Stakes September 27 after a third in the minor Summer Colony Stakes in August and consecutive fourths - in the Grade 2 Molly Pitcher Stakes and the Grade 3 Obeah Stakes. She has a second and two third place finishes in six starts this year and will be looking for her first ever graded stakes score from post 11 with Cornelio Velasquez in the saddle.

Playful Love - has a pair of thirds in four starts this year for trainer Kellyn Gorder - those coming in her last two starts - both Allowance races. She has just one graded stakes start - a sixth in the Grade 2 Golden Rod Stakes a year ago. She looks like she's in deep in this one and will line up in the outside post with Channing Hill guiding her.
