The Dwyer Stakes has attracted a small field of just six to go in race 4 on Belmont Park's Saturday schedule. Post time is 2:56 PM. Let's take a glance into the past performances of all sex entries for this Grade 3 stakes.
Kid Cruz - Linda Rice trainee is coming off a nice win on this track - by 3 and a quarter lengths the minor Easy Goer at this distance here June 7 after an eighth in the Preakness and two straight minor stakes wins - in his stakes debut - the minor Private Terms Stakes at Laurel Park March 8 and in the Federico Tesio Stakes at Pimlico April 19. The streak came after a second in an Allowance and a Maiden Claiming score November 22. Irad Ortiz will be in the saddle of the 121 pound top weight from the inside post. He is the fields' top earner and the expected favorite Saturday.
Tiz Dark - Todd Pletcher trained colt has just two career starts with a win and a second place finish. He broke maiden last time out on this track by an impressive 6 one quarter lengths May 25 after a second in a similar race on that same track May 4. He makes his stakes debut in good form Saturday with John Velazquez guiding him. Tiz Dark comes with a lot of hype - let's see if he can deliver.
Captain Serious - Michael Hushion pupil has just three career starts with three wins - all as favorite. He made his stakes debut last time out and recorded an impressive win in this track - the minor Mike Lee Stakes after an Allowance score April 26 and a MSW win at first asking April 5.
