Las Vegas, NV - Delaware Park in Stanton, Delaware will play host to the Grade 3 Obeah Stakes on Saturday, June 14. Fillies and mares three years old and upward will be featured as they go 1 1/8 miles on Delaware Park's main track in search of the winner's share of the $150,000 purse.

2014 Obeah Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Gamay Noir - raced in graded stakes company for the first time for trainer Martin Wolfson February 16 and finished fifth in the Grade 2 Sabin Stakes at Gulfstream and followed that with a fourth in the minor Wayward Lass Stakes at Tampa Bay March 15 and a true breakthrough performance - an upset win at 49-1 odds in the Grade 3 Rampart Stakes at Gulfstream March 29. Last time out was an OK third in the Grade 3 Sixty Sails Handicap at Hawthorne April 19. Golden Production - entered the Grade 2 Santa Maria Stakes in February on a four race win streak - the minor Paseana Stakes January 12 being her best - she finished sixth and that race and has failed to place in two starts since. Last time out was a seventh in the minor Foxy J.G. Stakes at Parx May 3 after a fifth in the minor American Beauty Stakes at Santa Anita in March. She has five wins, four seconds and a third place finish in 14 career starts but hasn't been all that competitive lately. She hopes to bounce back with Victor Carrasco in the saddle from post 6. Golden Production is also 2-1 on the morning line as part of a coupled entry.

Montana Native - Christophe Clement trained filly made her graded stakes debut and finished fifth in the Grade 1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga in August after a two race win streak - the minor Broom Dance Stakes at Saratoga July 24 being her best career result to that point. She went on to win the minor Remington Park Oaks September 29, finish third in the minor Wayward Lass Stakes at Tampa Bay in March, fifth in the minor Cat Cay Stakes at Aqueduct in April and record a win last time out in the minor Winter Melody Stakes on this track May 21 . Montana Native has won two of her last four races - the last coming on this track a few weeks ago and is listed at 3-1 odds. Julien Pimentel gets the call from post 2.

Obeah Stakes 2014 | Remaining Contenders

Flash Forward - placed in five straight minor stakes starts in 2013 and debuted in graded stakes company November 30 finishing sixth in the Grade 3 Comely Stakes. The results include a third in the Belle Cherie Stakes October 25 after a second in the Zafig Stakes and a win in the My Flag Stakes at Saratoga in August. She enters off a pair of OK thirds - the minor Cat Cay Stakes last time out April 6 and in the Grade 2 Top Flight Handicap March 1 after a second in a Ladies Handicap January 25. Flash Forward has three wins, four seconds and three third place finishes in 16 career starts. She is listed at 6-1 on the morning line and departs from post 4 with Jose Ortiz in the saddle.

Zucchini Flower - H Graham Motion trainee last raced in graded stakes company in May, 2012 and finished seventh in the Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes and has placed in eight of 10 starts since. She had a two race in streak in spring 2013 - and Allowance Optional Claiming at Pimlico and the minor Monmouth Beach Stakes in May and was forced to the sidelined for 11 months. She returned April 5 and finished third in the minor Dahlia Stakes at Pimlico and was most recently second in the minor Monmouth Beach Stakes May 25. Trevor McCarthy gets the call from post 5 at 6-1 odds.

Blue Violet - Larry Jones trained filly is coming off a respectable second behind Montana Native in the minor Winter Melody Stakes on this track May 21 after crossing the line first and being disqualified to fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming in April and an Allowance score by 2 3/4 lengths at Fair Grounds in January. She has two graded stakes starts - a sixth in the 2013 Grade 2 Fair Grounds Oaks in March and a third in the Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra on that same track six weeks earlier. Blue Violet goes off at 8-1 odds from gate 3 looking for her first stakes score with Kerwin Clark aboard.

Ambusher - Ian Wilkes trained filly has 17 career starts with just two wins, two seconds and five third place finishes. She had four thirds and a second place finish in five starts before a fourth last time out in her graded stakes debut - the Grade 3 Arlington Matron Stakes May 24 - the second coming three back in the minor Wayward Lass Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs in March. Her wins came in the summer - a Maiden score and an Allowance Optional Claiming - both results in August at Canterbury Park. Jose Caraballo rides from the outside post at 9-1 odds.

Daydreamin Gracie - is coming off a respectable fourth in the Grade 3 Gallorette Handicap at Pimlico May 17 - her only start of 2014 after a fifth in the minor Geisha Stakes in November and an OK second in the minor Maryland Million Ladies Stakes in October. She has nine wins, a second and nine third place finishes in 33 career starts and is the longest shot in the field at 12-1 odds.
