2015 Delaware Oaks Race Favorite Entries

Lovely Maria 1-1 - Larry Jones trained filly has four wins and three second place finishes in eight career starts. She enters off a terrific win in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks which followed a victory in the Grade 1 Ashland Stakes at Keeneland April 4, a good second in her graded stakes debut - the Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra Stakes at Fair Grounds February 21 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score in wire-to-wire fashion January 25. Lovely Maria has been virtually untouchable in 2015, is the most accomplished filly in the field and hopes to keep the roll going from post 5 with Kerwin Clark guiding the even-money favorite and 122 pound highweight.

White Clover 5/1 - another Larry Jones trained filly has three wins, two seconds and a third place finish in eight career starts. She enters off consecutive wins on this track - the minor Our Mims Stakes last time out June 3 and an Allowance May 16. Before that was a second in an Allowance and a seventh in his only graded stakes action to date - the Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra Stakes at Fair Grounds in February. She has been very good the last three months and hopes to keep the roll going from gate 6 with Michael Rivto in the reins.

Peace and War 6/1 - Graham Motion trained filly won the Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes in October - her best career result. She didn't look great in her next two starts - a seventh in the Grade 1 Ashland Stakes in April was followed by an eighth in the Grade 3 Pat Day Mile in May. Last time out was a better result - a second behind White Clover in the minor Our Mims Stakes on this track June 3. Peace and War has had some good results in her career and hopes for another Saturday from the outside post 8 with hall-of-fame jockey John Velazquez guiding the morning line third choice.

Danzatrice 8/1 - has three wins and a second place finish in five career starts for trainer Cathal Lynch. She enters off a fourth in the Grade 1 Acorn Stakes June 6 after a nice win in her stakes debut - the minor Parx Oaks May 2 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Laurel Park in March. She has looked pretty good in her career so far but hopes for a graded stakes breakthrough Saturday from gate 4 with Trevor McCarthy in the reins.
