Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 3 Delta Downs Jackpot comes our way this Saturday, November 21 from Delta Downs Racetrack Casino & Hotel in Vinton, Louisiana. Two year olds will be featured when they take to Delta Downs dirt track and go 1 1/16 miles for a lucrative $1 million purse and 10 qualifying points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby.
A field of 10 have been confirmed for the Delta Downs Jackpot - race 7 on Delta Downs Saturday schedule. Here is a look into the past performances of all 10 combatants for this lucrative Grade 3 Kentucky Derby qualifying stakes.
Exaggerator 2-1 - Keith Desormeaux trained colt has been in there against some tough fields and has done well. He won the Grade 2 Saratoga Special August 16 in his third career start and followed that with a second in the Grade 1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland October 3 and a respectable fourth in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile last time out. Exaggerator is the most experienced entry in the field and should be the one to catch from post 9. Kent Desormeaux has the mount on the 122 pound top weight, the morning line favorite and the only graded stakes winner in the filed.
Sunny Ridge 7-2 - Jason Servis trained colt finished seventh in the Grade 3 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga in July - in his second career start. He has looked better since - a second last time out in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park August 3 followed a win in the minor $100,000 Sapling Stakes at Monmouth Park September 6. Sunny Ridge has looked very good in his last two starts and is expected to be competitive again Saturday from post 3 with Irad Ortiz aboard the morning line second choice.
Forevamo 4-1 - improving Albert Stall trained colt enters off a nice win in the minor Jean Lafitte Stakes, a local prep for the Jackpot on this track October 24. That win followed a second in a MSW at Churchill Downs September 26 and a fourth in his debut in August. Forevamo looked awfully good on this track last time out and should be in the mix again Saturday. Colby Hernandez gets the call from the rail.
Found Money 6-1 - west coast invader - Doug O'Neill trained colt has two wins and two seconds in five career starts. He enters off consecutive seconds - the minor Golden State Juvenile Stakes at Del Mark October 30 and in the minor I'm Smokin Stakes on that track September 4. He also had a fifth in the Grade 2 Best Pal Stakes in August and a nice win in the minor Santa Anita Juvenile Stakes in June. Found Money looks for his first win in four starts Saturday from post 7. Mario Gutierrez gets the call.
