OffTrackBetting.com - Del Mar Race Track in Del Mar, California will be the scene of the Grade 2 Best Pal Stakes on Saturday, August 13. A group of two year olds will take to Del Mar's dirt track and race 6 1/2 furlongs searching for the winner's share of the $200,000 purse.

A field of six juveniles will take part in the Best Pal Stakes - race 8 on Del Mar's Saturday schedule. Post time is 5:40 PM. Here is a glance into the past performances of all six combatants for this intriguing Grade 2 stakes - all of which have broken maiden and will be after their first graded stakes score.

2016 Best Pal Stakes Race Preview at Del Mar Race Track

Big League 2-1 - will make his second career start for trainer Peter Miller after a nice maiden score by an impressive 3 1/4 lengths at first asking on this track July 30. He has posted three bullet works at San Luis Rey Training Center in preparation for this race and steps up hoping to make a name for himself - from the outside gate 6 Saturday with Norberto Arroyo in the irons of the morning line favorite.

Klimt 9-5 - will race for the third time for trainer Bob Baffert. He posted a fourth as favorite in his debut and broke maiden last time out by an eye opening 5 1/4 lengths July 10 - both results at Santa Anita. He has shown improvement and makes his stakes debut from post 5 Saturday. Rafael Bejarano has the mount at 9-5 on the morning line.

Thirstforlife 5-2 - Mark Casse trained colt debuted with a respectable third in the Kentucky Juvenile Stakes at Churchill Downs and posted a maiden score by a good 6 1/2 lengths in his only other start - also at Churchill Downs June 4. Thirstforlife has been a factor in both career starts and hopes to be again Saturday. Joe Talamo gets the call from gate 4 at 5-2 odds.

Rinse and Repeat 5-1 - has placed in all three career starts for trainer Doug O'Neill - one win and two third place finishes. He broke maiden last time out by 2 1/2 lengths - on this track July 16 after an OK third in the minor Everett Nevin Stakes at Oak Tree at Pleasanton July 3 and another third in his debut in June. Rinse and Repeat has been competitive every time out and hopes for his first stakes win from gate 2 Saturday. Mario Gutierrez rides.

Secret House 12-1 - Doug O'Neill trained colt has two career starts with one win - that coming in his debut at Santa Anita May 27. His only other start was a fourth in his stakes debut - a head back in the minor Santa Anita Juvenile July 9. Secret House has been OK and will be looking to make some noise from the rail Saturday with Santiago Gonzalez in the reins.

Drafted 15-1 - Eoin Harty trained Ringling posted a win at first asking - by 2 3/4 lengths at Keeneland April 27 and promptly took his act to England where he finished a distant seventeenth in the Windsor Castle Stakes June 14. Back on North American soil Drafted will look to rebound from post 3 with Gary Stevens guiding him.
