OffTrackBetting.com - The G2 Brooklyn Invitational Stakes will be contested this Saturday, June 10 at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. Horses four years old and upward will be featured when they take to Belmont Park's dirt track and race 1 1/2 miles for the winner's share of the $400,000 purse.

2017 Brooklyn Invitational Stakes Entries at Belmont Park

Send It In 7-5

Has hit the board in 15 of 17 career starts for trainer Todd Pletcher - nine wins, three seconds and three third place finishes. Last time out was a nice win over both Tu Brutus and Doyouknowsomething in the G3 Excelsior Stakes at Aqueduct April 8. Before that was a third in the minor Stymie Stakes at Aqueduct March 12 and two straight minor stakes scores on that track - the Haynesfield Stakes February 11 and the Alex M. Robb Stakes December 31. He posted five wins and two runner-up finishes in his previous seven starts as well -all Allowance races. Send It In has been as competitive as they come the last two or so years and shoots for a second straight graded stakes score in his longest race to date with John Velazquez guiding the morning line favorite from gate 4.

Tu Brutus 2-1

Chilean bred Gary Contessa trainee has placed in 15 of 19 career starts - nine wins, three seconds and three third place finishes. He won his last three races at home and has been very good in two North American starts. Last time out was a win by an impressive 11 lengths in gate-to-wire fashion in the minor Flat Out Stakes on this track May 7 after a respectable second in the G3 Excelsior Stakes at Aqueduct April 8. He has now won five of his last six starts overall - his only blemish the last year was that second two starts back. He tries to keep an impressive run going Saturday with Irad Ortiz in the saddle of the second betting choice from post 5.

War Story 6-1

Has placed in his 10 of 20 career starts - four wins, three seconds and three third place finishes. He arrives off an OK third in the G2 Charles Town Classic April 22 which followed consecutive fifths - the G3 Fred W. Hooper Stakes March 4 and the G1 Pegasus World Cup January 28 - both at Gulfstream. Before that was a good win in the minor Queens County Stakes at Aqueduct December 17, a fourth in the G1 Cigar Mile on that track November 26, an eighth in the Breeders' Cup Classic and an OK second in the minor Pa Derby Champion Stakes at Parx September 24. He also finished eighth in the 2015 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile. War Story has been good in the past but has failed to place in four of his last six starts overall. He chases his first ever graded stakes score Saturday with Javier Castellano slated to ride the third choice from post 7.

Governor Malibu 8-1

Has placed in 11 of 15 career starts for trainer Christophe Clement - three wins, six seconds and two third place finishes. Last time out was an OK second in the minor Commentator Stakes here May 29 after off-the-board finishes in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Aqueduct April 9 and a seventh in the G3 Discovery Handicap in November. Before that were two OK results on this track - a second in the minor Empire Classic Handicap in October and an Allowance Optional Claiming score in September. He also posted a fifth in the G1 Travers Stakes at Saratoga in August, a decent second in the G2 Jim Dandy Stakes here July 30, a fourth in the Belmont Stakes and a respectable second in his graded stakes debut - the G2 Peter Pan Stakes last May 14. Governor Malibu was a favorite in every race early in his career but has been less spectacular as of late. He tries for his first win in nine months Saturday and will be ridden by Jose Ortiz from the rail.

Sunny Ridge 10-1

Jason Servis trained gelding has five wins, two seconds and two third place finishes in 14 career starts. He enters off a disappointing sixth in the G2 Charles Town Classic April 22 which followed a nice two race win streak - the minor Stymie Stakes March 12 and the minor Jazil Stakes January 14 - both at Aqueduct. Before that was a third in the minor Queen's County Stakes on that track December 17 and a sixth in the G3 Discovery Handicap at Aqueduct in November. He won the G3 Wither Stakes at Aqueduct to start his 2016 campaign and the minor Sapling Stakes in 2015 and was second behind Exaggerator in the 2015 $1,000,000 Delta Downs Jackpot as well. Sunny Ridge has shown some serious form in the past but will be looking for a strong bounce back Saturday with Manuel Franco guiding him from post 3.

Doyouknowsomething 15-1

Last year's sixth place finisher in this race - AC Avila trained gelding has six wins, six seconds and eight third place finishes in his 30 career starts. He enters in decent form - last time out was a second behind Tu Brutus in the minor Flat Out Stakes here Mat 7 after a third behind Send It In and Tu Brutus again in the G3 Excelsior Stakes at Aqueduct April 8, a second in the minor Stymie Stakes at Aqueduct March 12 and consecutive thirds in that track including the minor Jazil Stakes in January. Doyouknowsomething has quietly placed in 11 straight races ahead of this weekend (two wins over that span) and will try to keep up the momentum from gate 6. Angel Arroyo rides.

Idolo Porteno 20-1

Argentinean bred Ignacio Correas trainee has four wins, two seconds and a third-place finish in 15 career starts and was at his best at the end of 2014 at home when he won the Group 1 Carlos Pellegrini and the Group 1 Dardo Rocha. He has just seven starts since - consecutive fifths in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Churchill Downs May 6 and the minor Challenger Stakes at Tampa Bay March 11 followed 10 months away, an OK second in the G3 Pimlico Special last May 20 and a respectable third in his North American debut - the G3 Razorback Handicap at Oaklawn Park March 19, 2016. He also had a disappointing last of eight in the G2 Elkhorn Stakes at Keeneland last April 23. Idolo Porteno will be after his first win in 30 months and enters in so-so form. Florent Geroux gets the call from gate 2.

Behest 30-1

French bred has just three wins and two second place finishes in 14 career starts for trainer George Arnold II. He was OK at home but has struggled mightily in six North American starts. Last time out was an eighth in the G2 Alysheba Stakes May 5 at Churchill Downs which followed a tenth in the G3 River City Handicap on that track November 24 on that track, a ninth in the G3 Sycamore Stakes at Keeneland in October and consecutive sevenths - the G3 Kentucky Turf Cup in September and the G2 Wise Dan Stakes last June. Behest has failed to place in his last seven starts overall and looks as though he will be in over his head in this one. Corey Lanerie rides from the outside gate 8.
