Can'thelpbelieving 9-2
Irish bred Graham Motion trained gelding has four wins, five seconds and three third place finishes in 19 career starts. Last time out was a very disappointing eleventh in the G1 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic at Churchill Downs May 6 which followed nine months away and a career-best win in the G3 Cliffhanger Stakes on this track July 30. He also finished a respectable third in the 2016 G1 Man `o War Stakes at Belmont Park but had a fifth as well in the G1 United Nations Stakes here and a fourth in the G2 Bowling Green Stakes at Saratoga last year. Can'thelpbelieving has been up and down so far in his career and has failed to place in three of his last four starts (his only on-the-board finish was a win two starts back). He tries to gain a little consistency Saturday with Antonio Gallardo aboard the third betting choice from gate 4.
Synchrony 5-1
Has placed in seven of nine career starts for trainer Michael Stidham - three wins, two seconds and two third place finishes. He enters off an OK second in the minor Henry S. Clark Stakes at Laurel Park April 22, an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Fair Grounds March 20, a fifth in a similar race on that track in February and a third in the G3 Lexington Stakes at Keeneland last April. Synchrony has been OK so far and will chase a first stakes score from post 3 Saturday. Mitchell Murrill rides.
Irish Strait 6-1
Has placed in nine of 16 career starts for trainer Graham Motion - four wins and five third place finishes. Last time out was a fourth in the minor Henry S. Clark Stakes at Laurel Park April 22 which followed consecutive thirds - an Allowance Optional Claiming at Tampa Bay March 24 and the G3 Tampa Bay Stakes February 11 - his only graded stakes start to date. He has placed in six of his last eight starts ahead of this weekend including two Allowance Optional Claiming scores last fall but has yet to post a stakes win. Jockey Orlando Bocachica has been charged with changing all of that from gate 8.
Special Envoy 6-1
Has placed in 13 of 18 career starts for trainer Arnaud Delacour - five wins, five seconds and three third place finishes. He has been just OK lately - a fourth last time out in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Tampa Bay followed a second in the minor Edward P. Evans Stakes at Pimlico June 25, a fifth in the minor Henry S. Clark Stakes in April, 2016 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score in March, 2016. He finished second in the 2015 G3 Cliff Hanger Stakes on this track but was sixth in his only other graded stakes start - the G3 Tamp Bay Stakes in February, 2016. Marengo Road 20-1

Call First 30-1
Gina Perri trained gelding has 56 career starts with just 14 wins, nine seconds and eight third place finishes. He steps into stakes company for the first time Saturday off a Claiming score March 25, a second in a Claiming March 4 and off-the board finishes in three more Claiming races this past winter. He steps up in so-so form but still looks as though he will be in over his head from gate 6. Jose Ferrer will be in the irons.
Weekend Express 30-1
Timothy Hills trained gelding has just four wins, four seconds and two third place finishes in 22 career starts. He makes his graded stakes debut Saturday having failed to place in his last three starts overall. A fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out at Belmont Park followed a sixth and a fifth respectively in a pair of similar races to end his 2016 campaign. He did post a win and a pair of seconds before that in three straight Allowance Optional Claiming races - the win came on this track. Weekend Express steps up in less-than-spectacular form and will leave from the rail with Jose Ferrer aboard.
Schoolofhardrocks 30-1

He has failed to place in any of his five graded stakes starts but steps up for the first time since 2014 this week. Encryption 9-2

Adirondack King 5-1
Main Track Only Entry has 44 career starts for trainer John Servis with just seven wins, 10 seconds and six third place finishes. He won the minor Chandelier Stakes in March, 2016 and also won another minor stakes race in 2011 but has been inconsistent since. Just Call Kenny 6-1
