2017 Dr. James Penny Memorial Stakes Entries at Parx Racing

Fourstar Crook 2-1

Up-and-coming Chad Brown trained mare has seven wins and a second-place finish in her 10 career starts. She makes her graded stakes debut Tuesday on the heels of a terrific seven-race win streak - the minor Mount Vernon Stakes last time out at Belmont Park May 29, the minor John Hettinger Stakes on that track September 25, the minor Yaddo Stakes at Saratoga August 26 and three straight Allowance scores included. Fourstar Crook hasn't been touched in 20 months and tries to keen an impressive roll going from the outside gate 10 Tuesday. Joe Bravo is scheduled to ride the impressive morning line favorite.

Light In Paris 4-1

Irish bred Chad Brown trained mare has placed in 12 of 17 career starts - six wins, two seconds and four third place finishes. She arrives off a respectable second in the G3 Eatontown Stakes at Monmouth Park June 3 which followed a nice win in the minor Plenty of Grace Stakes at Aqueduct April 15, a sixth in the G2 Hillsborough Stakes March 11 and a decent runner-up finish behind Isabella Sings in the G3 Endeavour Stakes February 11 - both at Tampa Bay. Before that was an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Tampa Bay January 8, nearly a year away and a fourth in the G3 Suwannee River Stakes at Gulfstream in February, 2016. She has placed in four of her last five starts overall and tries for a first graded stakes in decent form. Manuel Franco rides the second betting choice from the rail.

Elysea's World 5-1

Irish bred Chad Brown trained filly has three wins, three seconds and a third-place finish in 10 career starts. Last time out was an OK third in the G3 Gallorette Stakes at Pimlico May 20 after a respectable second in the H2 Hillsborough Stakes at Tampa Bay March 11, another second in the G3 Suwannee River Stakes at Gulfstream Park February 11, an Allowance Optional Claiming score on that track December 29 and off-the-board finishes in two GS races - a sixth in the G2 Sands Point Stakes in September and a fourth in the G2 Lake Placid Stakes in August. She also had a respectable second in the G3 Lake George Stakes last July 22, an Allowance Optional Claiming score last May on that track and a maiden score at first asking - overseas last in June, 2015. Elysea's World has quietly placed in her last four starts overall and will be after a first graded stakes score from post 3 Tuesday. Irad Ortiz has the mount on the co-third choice.

Cambodia 5-1

Thomas Proctor trained mare has placed in eight of 10 career starts - four wins and four third place finishes. She arrives off a career-best effort - a win in her graded stakes debut - the G3 Gallorette Stakes at Pimlico May 20 which followed consecutive thirds in minor stakes action - the Dahlia Stakes at Laurel Park April 22 and the Daisey Devine Stakes at Fair Grounds February 25. Before that were three straight Allowance scores to end her 2016 campaign. Cambodia has been a factor in every start the last seven months and shoots for a second straight graded stakes score from gate 6. Florent Geroux will be in the reins of the other co-third betting choice.

Light Up Our World 6-1

Irish bred Arnaud Delacour trained filly has two wins, three seconds and four third place finishes in 15 career starts. She made her North American debut last time out and finished second in an Allowance at Belmont Park after a fifth in the Group 3 Godolphin Stud & Stable Staff Awards Darley Stakes in October, a twelfth in a Group 3 race in France in August, a third in a Group 3 race last July29 and a minor stakes score overseas July 2, 2016. Light Up Our World has been OK in her career so far but has yet to record a graded/Group score. Jockey Tyler Connor will try to change all of that from gate 8 Tuesday.

Gone Away 12-1

Has three wins and two third place finishes in 10 career starts for trainer Michael Matz. She arrives off an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Laurel Park June 10, a fourth in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Pimlico May 19 and a third in an Allowance at Keeneland April 14. Before that was a sixth in the G2 Lake George Stakes at Saratoga last July 22, an eighth in the G3 Regret Stakes at Churchill Downs 22 and a nice win in the minor Hilltop Stakes at Pimlico in May, 2016. Gone Away has been largely underwhelming so far in her career so far but tries to build on a win last time out when she departs from post 9 with Victor Carrasco guiding her.

My Impression 12-1

Shug McGaughey trained filly has won five of 12 career starts with one second and one third place finish. She enters off a runner-up finish in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Belmont Park June 11 which followed consecutive fifth place finishes - the minor Plenty of Grace Stakes at Aqueduct April 15 and the G2 Hillsborough Stakes at Tampa Bay March 11. Before that was a good win in the minor Winter Memories Stakes at Aqueduct November 25, an OK third in the G3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes at Keeneland in October and a terrific 3 1/4 length win in the G3 Commonwealth Oaks at Laurel Park September 24. She also had a sixth in the G2 Lake Placid Stakes at Saratoga August 21, a win in the minor Christiana Stakes at Delaware Park July 6 and a fifth in the minor Memories Of Silver Stakes at Aqueduct last April. My Impression has three stakes wins in her career and will try to snap a three-race losing streak from gate 2. Edgar Prado will be in the saddle.

Thundering Sky 15-1

George Weaver trained filly has 13 career starts with two wins, three seconds and three third place finishes. She enters off a fourth in an Allowance at Belmont Park June 1 after a fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming on that track April 28 and a good win in the minor Pebble Stakes at Belmont Park in October. Before that was a third in the G3 Ontario Colleen Stakes at Woodbine September 24, a fifth in the G2 Lake George Stakes at Saratoga last July and a second in the minor Wild Applause Stakes at Belmont Park in June, 2016. Thundering Sky has failed to place in her last two starts overall and will chase a first graded stakes score from gate 4 with Antonio Gallardo aboard.

Tin Type Gal 20-1

Graham Motion trained filly has won three of her eight career starts with a third-place finish squeezed in there - failing to place in the others. Last time out was an ugly seventh in the G3 Eatontown Stakes at Monmouth Park June 3 after an OK third in the G2 Sands Point Stakes at Belmont Park way back on September 17, a disappointing fifth in the competitive G1 Del Mar Oaks August 20 and a career-best outing - a win in the G3 Boiling Springs Stakes at Monmouth Park last July 24. Before that was a fifth in the minor Wild Applause Stakes at Belmont Park June 19, 2016, nine months away, a nice win in the G3 Miss Grillo Stakes on that track and a maiden score at Saratoga. Tin Type Gal has been great at times, not so good at others and will be out to gain a little consistency from post 7 Tuesday. Feargal gets the call.

Royal Revenge 20-1

Elizabeth Merryman trained mare has five wins, six seconds and two third place finishes in 24 career starts. She makes her graded stakes debut Tuesday off a fifth in the minor Lyphard Stakes at Penn National June 3, a seventh in the minor The Very One Stakes at Pimlico May 20 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Laurel Park April 30. Before that was a second in the minor Power by Far Stakes on this track last July 23 and another Allowance Optional Claiming score - at Penn National two weeks prior to that. Royal Revenge looked good at this time last year but has struggled most recently. Hopes are that he can snap a two-race funk from post 5 with a yet-to-be-determined jockey guiding her.
