2017 Summer Stakes Entries at Woodbine Racetrack
Hemp Hemp Hurray 2-1
Wesley Ward trained colt has two career starts and he won both in impressive fashion. Last time out his win came in the minor Tyro Stakes by an eye-opening 7 1/4 lengths at Monmouth Park August 6 - it followed a maiden score by four lengths at first asking - at Belmont Park July 9. Hemp Hemp Hurray Tries to remain undefeated as he steps into graded stakes company for the first time. John Velazquez will be in the irons of the only stakes winner in the field and morning line favorite - from gate 6.
El Dulce 3-1
Todd Pletcher trained colt has a win and a second-place finish in his two career starts - both results came at Saratoga. Last time out was an OK stakes debut - a runner-up finish in the minor Skidmore Stakes August 18. Before that was a maiden score at first asking July 29. El Dulce has been competitive in both career starts and hopes to be again in his first foray into graded stakes company. Jose Ortiz has the mount on the second betting choice from post 5.

Untamed Domain 7-2
Has three career starts for trainer Graham Motion with one win and a third-place finish. Last time out was a respectable third in his stakes debut - the G3 With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga August 30 after a maiden score on that track July 22 and a fourth in his debut July 2. Untamed Domain has been pretty good so far in his career and will chase a career-defining win from the rail. Joe Bravo gets the call.
Count Alexander 6-1
Will hit the track for the second time on Sunday hoping to remain undefeated for trainer Mary Lightner. His only start resulted in a nice maiden score - by four lengths at 14-1 in a six-furlong race on this track August 27. Count Alexander steps up off a nice effort and will leave from post 7 with Simon Callaghan aboard.
Will hit the track for just the second time for trainer Roy Lerman looking for his first win. His only career start produces a runner-up finish after being DQ'd from first in a MSW at 25-1 odds at Saratoga August 26. Empirically shoots for that breakthrough win Sunday in what serves as a huge step up in competition. Joel Rosario gets the call from the outside gate 8.
Admiralty Pier 10-1
Barbara Minshall trained gelding has one career starts and it was a good one - a maiden score on this track August 6. He looked good in that race and hopes to be again in his major step up in competition Sunday. Luis Contreras has been tabbed to ride from gate 4.
Mark Casse trained colt has three career starts with just one win to show for it - all of his results have come on this track. Last time out was a disappointing last of six in the minor Clarendon Stakes August 5 which followed a maiden score July 14 and a fourth in his debut June 18. Differential has been a tad tough to figure out but hopes to make a name for himself Sunday. Gary Boulanger will be in the saddle from gate 2.
Follow My Lead 20-1
Nicholas Nosowenko trained gelding has a pair of runner-up finishes in his three career starts - all on this track. He steps into stakes company for the first time Sunday off a fourth in a MSW August 20 which followed consecutive seconds (one of which was behind Differential) in MSW races to start his career. Follow My Lead steps up looking for his first win and could be in over his head from post 3.
