Todd Pletcher, winning trainer of Fashion Alert (No. 6): "I thought she did everything we hoped she would do. She got away pretty alertly and put herself in good position. It was an advantage to have the outside post, which we were happy about when the draw came out. She's a very talented filly that ran to her training. I think timing-wise, this sets her up very well for the [Grade 3] Schuylerville [July 18, 6 furlongs, Saratoga]."

"We're off to a good start with our 2-year-olds. We've run three so far, with two wins and a third. It looks like a quality crop. We'll look to pick it up a bit and have some more ready in the next couple of weeks and by Saratoga we'll have a real good idea where we are."

John Velazquez, winning jockey aboard Fashion Alert (No. 6): "She waited so long [in the gate]. She was perfect in [the gate] then another horse reacted and she turned to the inside. I said to the guy, 'just don't move her,' because I knew she was going to be explosive. She broke to the inside and after three jumps she got into a nice rhythm and sat out in the middle of the track for a while. It was pretty easy. I sat on the outside and rushed her a little bit just to make sure those horses didn't get away, but she was going so easy I just let her do it."

George Bolton, winning owner of Fashion Alert (No. 6): "[When the maiden race didn't fill], Todd and I looked at the stake. We drew the outside, so we decided to go for it. She's special, and she deserved a spot in the race."
