Exaggerator Takes a Walk, Back to Track Tuesday

December 10, 2019

BALTIMORE, MD – Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Exaggerator took a walk around the shedrow Monday morning at Pimlico Race Course two days after winning the Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown by 3 ½ lengths.

Trainer Keith Desormeaux said Exaggerator, runner-up to Preakness favorite Nyquist May 7 in the Kentucky Derby (G1), was doing well and could be back on the track Tuesday.

“He didn’t do anything today but walk,” said Desormeaux. “We’ll probably go back to the track [Tuesday] morning.”

Desormeaux said the plan is for Exaggerator to remain at Pimlico before shipping to New York Sunday to prepare for the June 11 Belmont Stakes.

Nyquist is scheduled to leave Pimlico Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning.
